This year we have once again organized a collotype workshop for Kyotographie, now an annual Springtime event for Kyoto.
With our expanded and renovated space in Benrido Collotype Academy, we were grateful to host the fully booked event with a bunch of passionate participants!

We have organized an exhibition “Reproducing Great Treasures – A History of Cultural Properties: Benrido, Photography and Collotype” from December 16, 2017 to January 28, 2018, celebrating the company’s 130th anniversary. In the exhibition, we have shown our full scale reproductions of Japanese national treasures, including the wall paintings inside Horyuji Temple’s Golden Hall and Takamatsuzuka Tomb.
Accompanying the exhibition, we have planned a hand-printing workshop for many to enjoy.

The exhibition “Modern Kyoto from the old photographs” is currently showing a number of precious photographs of the city at the the Museum of Kyoto.

Along with EMON PHOTO GALLERY, nap gallery, PGI, Taka Ishii Gallery and The Third Gallery Aya, Benrido will be displaying and selling limited edition photographs and portfolios of internationally renowned photographers.
